The A9 is a budget smartphone of smartphone maker Oppo. It has a large 6.5-inch FullHD + display with a waterdrop notch at the front. We found that the display is crisp and the viewing angles are good. The Oppo A9 has a fingerprint scanner at the back that is easy to access and quick to unlock the smartphone. It also has Face Unlock which uses a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

The phone can perform day-to-day tasks without any lag or stutter. We played games like PUBG Mobile and Oppo A9 managed to play it on medium settings. The Oppo A9 is packed in a 4020mAh battery that manages to deliver a very good battery life. We can go forward for a day and a half using applications like WhatsApp and Google Maps on the device. Oppo only supplies a 10W charger in the box which is a bit slow to charge the device. The smartphone runs ColorOS 6 on top of Android 9 Pie and comes with some amount of pre-installed.

At the rear, the A9 has a dual-camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The camera manages good photos in broad daylight and the AI   helps set the scene before taking a shot. Camera performance decreases slightly in low light.
